A gifted engineer at the time of his death, Dino was working on a new V6 engine which would power Mike Hawthorn to the 1958 World Championship. It became conventional to call any Ferrari powered by a V6 a Dino and they would identify themselves in F1, F2 and sports vehicle racing. In 1967 the very first driving car was produced using a 2 litre V6 206 Dino. However, this did not offer well as it was underpowered compared with the V12 vehicles. In 1969 the 2.4 litre engine with 195 BHP and improved torque was used, which offered the 246 Dino a top speed near 150 MPH, with a framework that came from Ferraris race breeding. It was one of the quickest vehicles readily available to obtain from A to B on winding drivings, and in 1972 the 246 GT was improved and the GTS (Spyder) was presented. This GTS version was offered brand-new on Oct 09 1973 at Hollywood Sports Cars, Hollywood California, and was then offered to Switzerland in 1989. The vehicle was then acquired and re-imported into the USA in 1999 for a collection.
